Meet our Arabic and Quran teachers.
Chief Executive Officer
Shaykh Mahmoud Al-Assal is an Egyptian graduate of the Alexandria Institute of Qirāʾāt at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, holding multiple Ijāzāt in Tajwīd and the Ten Qirāʾāt, all earned with top academic distinction, in addition to Ijāzāt in Al-Jazariyyah and Al-Tuhfah. With over 13 years of teaching experience, he is the Director and Co-Founder of Shaykhi Academy since 2019, where he teaches advanced Tajwīd, Qirāʾāt and Ijāzah programs, Qur’an memorization, and Qur’an and Arabic reading to both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers.
Managing Director
Mr. Luqman El-Kasabany is the Managing Director of Shaykhi Academy, an Egyptian native Arabic speaker and Al-Azhar University graduate in Islamic Studies (English), a Hafiz of the Qur’an holding multiple ijazāt in various qirā’āt, with extensive experience teaching Tajweed and Arabic to non-native speakers. He is the author of *Al-Menhaj*, serves as Supervisor and Education Manager, teaches core Islamic sciences online, and actively pursues professional development in child development, PMP, and digital marketing, with youthful energy that connects well with younger students.
Senior Qur’an Teacher
Mr. Ahmed Ramadan is a senior Qur’an instructor and professional translator in Cairo, a distinguished graduate of Al-Azhar University with a degree in Islamic Studies in English. He has three years of experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to non-native speakers and translating Islamic and legal texts. He memorized the Qur’an at age eleven, holds multiple Ijazāt in Qur’anic recitations, and has served as an imam for five years, enriching his students’ learning through strong Qur’anic expertise.
Egyptian Qur’an teacher
Shaykh Ahmed Hassan Saber is an Egyptian native Arabic speaker and a graduate of Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Pharmacy, with advanced studies in Arabic, Tajweed, Fiqh, Tafseer, and Seerah. He is a Hafiz of the Qur’an, holds Ijazat in the ʿAsim Qira’at, and has extensive experience teaching Tajweed and Arabic reading to non-native speakers.
Al-Azhar–educated Islamic studies teacher
Mr. Mahmoud Elsaid is an Egyptian native Arabic speaker and Al-Azhar University graduate in Islamic Studies who memorized the Qur’an early and is currently pursuing his ijazah. He has over two years of teaching experience, holds General and Professional Education Diplomas, and teaches Qur’an, Tafsir, Aqeedah, Hadith, and other Islamic sciences in a clear and engaging way for all ages.
Al-Azhar–educated Qur’an teacher
Mr. Abdullah Moftah is an Egyptian Qur’an instructor and native Arabic speaker who studied Islamic Studies in English at the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Al-Azhar University. He also serves as an imam and preacher and holds a certified license in the recitation of ʿĀṣim Barawiyyah.
Qur’an teacher
Mr. Nour Eddin Mahmoud is an Egyptian Qur’an teacher and Al-Azhar student who memorized the Qur’an at 13 and holds multiple Ijazahs in Qira’at, Tajweed, and Hadith, and is close to completing all Qira’at. He has been teaching Arabic and non-Arabic speakers since 2021, communicating in Arabic and English, and is known for clearly explaining Islamic rulings and using educational games to keep students engaged.
Egyptian native Arabic speaker teacher
Mr. Saif Al-Metwaly is an Egyptian native Arabic speaker, fluent in English and French, and currently a medical student. He teaches Qur’an, Tajweed, and Islamic studies to non-Arabic speakers using clear methods and is active in self-development through work with various institutions.
Mrs. Asmaa Abdul Rahman is a graduate of Al-Azhar University and Dar Al-Arqam, with over ten years of experience teaching the Qur’an, Tajweed, basic Arabic, Arabic conversation, and Islamic studies to children and women. She uses Noor Al-Bayan and Qaida for beginners, simplifies Tajweed for accurate recitation, is known for her motivating teaching style, and holds an Ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim.
Ms. Alaa Elbakry is a 29-year-old Egyptian Arabic graduate (Alexandria University, 2018) who studied Tajweed at Daar Iqraa and holds certificates in memorizing Surah Al-Baqarah, Juz Amma, and Surah Tabarak, all with excellent grades. She teaches the Qur’an online via WhatsApp and Zoom, participates in charity work, and is also an author of two books—a short novel and a collection of quotes.

Ms. Kholoud Hamada is a native Arabic speaker from Egypt with over three years of experience teaching Qur'an and Arabic to all ages, leveraging her fluency in both English and Arabic. She holds an Ijazah in Tohfa Al-Atfal and is known for her engaging, adaptable teaching style that makes learning enjoyable.
